With a few 100km on the new Spitfire fore it was time for its bedding in service.
Nothing should be majorly wrong with this kind of mileage on a new bike, but a bedding inservice will find any little issues.
Focusing on
- Bolts – correct torque, making sure nothing has worked loose.
- Brakes – making sure pads aren’t rubbing and a bleed isn’t required.
- Drive Train – ensuring the shifting is indexed and adjusting for cable stretch.
Nothing untoward was found but this should be part of your regular maintenance schedule on your bike. It will stop problems from developing, help your learn your bike and you’ll spot issues early before they develop and become expensive.
