Silencing Chain Slap

Noisey bikes are the worst.

Some people love a buzzy freehub, some people prefer silence. But no body wants rattly chain slap or cables clattering all over the place. In this short video we look at a budget DIY optionsfor both limiting noise and protecting your chainstays.

I’m using self amalgamating tape in this video. Mastic tapes such as 3M’s have been used for bike silencing for years by those who know. But amalgamating tape is significantly cheaper and very easy to install around your chain and or seatstays.
